Since the launch of its first edition on August 11, 2018, the Crown Prince Camel Festival has witnessed significant progress and several achievements, including a notable increase in interest among the younger generation in the camel racing industry. This year's sixth edition has particularly highlighted the involvement of Saudi young men and women, who are increasingly engaging in the sport as it gains popularity. The camel racing sector has become an attractive area for young Saudi talents across various aspects of the industry. The new generation's interest in camel culture is heavily influenced by the strong support for this authentic heritage from relevant authorities. The transformation of camel racing into a thriving industry aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, further boosting its popularity. Saudi youth have entered various camel-related fields, making significant contributions as owners, investors, trainers, referees, organizers, race commentators, veterinarians, and content creators in t he media and on social media platforms. This growing involvement is a strong indication that the sport, passed down from fathers and grandfathers, will continue to thrive. In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Jaber bin Mukhaizeem, an expert in the field, stated that camel racing has undergone a qualitative shift across various areas since the sport began receiving support from the Saudi wise leadership. He added that the emergence of a new generation interested in the industry is due to their strong connection to their fathers and grandfathers, leading to a steady increase in their numbers with each festival edition.
