Gaza: The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 72,549, with 172,274 people injured, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Saturday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry reported that hospitals across Gaza had received eight bodies over the past 48 hours, including seven newly reported deaths and one body recovered from under the rubble.
The ministry further noted that the total number of casualties since a ceasefire took effect on Oct. 11 has reached 773 dead and 2,171 injured, while 761 bodies have been retrieved from beneath the debris.
The ministry also highlighted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, with ambulance and rescue crews still unable to reach them. It pointed out that 196 deaths were added to the cumulative toll after their details were verified and approved by a committee responsible for confirming fatalities, beginning in early April.
