Gaza strip: Hospitals in Gaza Strip recorded the death of one Palestinian over the past 24 hours due to malnutrition and famine, bringing the total number of deaths caused by starvation and malnutrition to 460, including 154 children.
According to Qatar News Agency, citing medical sources, since Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine conditions in Gaza Strip on August 22, a total of 182 deaths have been recorded, including 39 children.
The sources noted that more than half a million people in Gaza Strip are facing catastrophic conditions – Phase 5 of the IPC scale – characterized by extreme hunger, death, destitution, and critically high levels of acute malnutrition.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five has doubled between March and June, as a result of the ongoing Israeli blockade on Gaza Strip.
