Death Toll Rises to 36 after School Building Collapse in Indonesia

Doha: The death toll from the collapse of a school building in East Java, Indonesia, has risen to 36, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) announced Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the joint search and rescue team continues its field work to locate the 27 people still missing, while 11 bodies were found this morning, bringing the death toll to 36.

The Al-Khoziny School building, a boarding school in the town of Sidoarjo, collapsed last Monday, killing hundreds of students as the school’s foundations could not support ongoing construction work on the upper floors.
