Department of Da’wah Conducts Over 1,600 Educational Events in Academic Year

Doha: The Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance and the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, both under the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, have organized a significant number of educational activities and lectures during the current academic year in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE).

According to Qatar News Agency, these initiatives included over 1,600 lectures and educational events held in both public and private schools, orchestrated by the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance. Additionally, the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center facilitated 33 lectures and educational programs.

The activities targeted a variety of value-based and educational challenges, with the goal of reinforcing Islamic identity and promoting noble values among students of different age groups. The programs also included the participation of parents, teaching staff, and administrative personnel, featuring Qur'an competitions and prize distributions.

The lectures and activities conducted by the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance spanned all educational levels, from kindergarten through secondary school, and addressed 97 topics related to awareness and guidance for both boys and girls.

The Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center launched a school lecture program that started in October of the previous year. Approximately 2,360 students from 13 schools benefited from 33 events, which concentrated on values, behavior, student ethics, and contemporary challenges facing the youth.

Topics in the Center's activities and lectures included instilling Islamic morals and values such as honesty, respect for others, cooperation, kindness to parents, self-discipline, and positive behaviors in both school and daily life. Issues like respectful interaction with teachers, preservation of public property, time management, dialogue etiquette, and addressing modern challenges such as technology use, psychological stress, bullying risks, and identity questions were also covered.

The program targeted students aged 8 to 18 years, covering primary, preparatory, and secondary levels. Lectures were delivered using modern, interactive methods that considered individual differences among students and encouraged participation through dialogue, visual presentations, and other activities.

Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al Marri, Director of the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, emphasized that the school guidance program on values and behavior reflects the Center's dedication to nurturing future generations and guiding them towards moral excellence.

This initiative aligns with the Center's mission to reinforce Islamic identity, promote noble values among youth, and develop their behavioral and moral awareness according to the religious and cultural foundations of Qatari society. Recognizing the moral and behavioral challenges in today's world, the Center believes it is crucial to guide young people towards upright conduct and thoughtful engagement with life's changes.
