Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning about expected strong winds and high seas offshore in the northern areas on Thursday morning.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Department's daily weather report noted that inshore conditions will remain hot to very hot during the daytime until 6:00 pm, while offshore conditions are expected to be fine. Winds inshore are predicted to blow northwesterly at speeds of 05-15 KT, with gusts reaching up to 23 KT during the day. Offshore, winds will primarily be northwesterly at 06-16 KT, with gusts up to 24 KT in the north initially.
The sea conditions inshore are anticipated to range from 1 to 3 FT, whereas offshore seas are expected to be between 2 to 4 FT, rising to 8 FT in the north initially. Visibility both inshore and offshore is expected to be between 5 to 9 KM.
