Department of Meteorology Warns of Low Horizontal Visibility, Strong Wind and High Sea Tonight

Doha: Weather inshore, until 6:00 am on Wednesday, will be partly cloudy with scattered rain at first, misty to foggy later, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of poor horizontal visibility later. Offshore, it will be partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered rain that may be thundery, becoming hazy to misty later, the report added, warning of thundery rain associated with strong wind and high sea with poor horizontal visibility at the southern area at first.

According to Qatar News Agency, wind inshore will be mainly southeasterly to northeasterly at a speed of 05 to 15 knots. Offshore, it will be variable mainly southeasterly at a speed of 07 to 17 knots, gusting to 30 knots with thundery rain, shifting to northwesterly later. The sea state inshore will be 1 to 3 feet, surging to 5 feet with thundery rain, while offshore will be 2 to 4 feet, surging to 10 feet with thundery rain.

Visibility inshore will be reduced to 04 to 09/02 kilometers or less later. Offshore, visibility will range from 04 to 09/03 kilometers or less at times. The report also provided details on high and low tide timings across various areas including Doha, Dukhan, Mesaieed, Wakrah, Al Khor, Ruwais, and Abu Samra, with temperatures ranging between a minimum of 18 degrees and a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius. Sunrise is expected at 05:25 LT and sunset at 17:50 LT.
