Doha: Mohammed Omar’s last-gasp goal rescued a point for Al Shamal as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Al Wakrah in Week 7 of the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Shamal Stadium on Friday.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Shamal had opened the scoring through Baghdad Bounedjah in the 45+1 minute. Al Wakrah responded with two goals within two minutes, with Amine Zahzouh converting a penalty in the 51st minute and Ayoub Assal adding another in the 53rd minute.
While it seemed the maximum points were going the way of The Blue Wave, Omar came to their rescue in the 90+7 minute. He hammered home a right-footed shot from outside the box to the top right corner to ensure the points were evenly shared.
With the result, Al Shamal moved to 18 points in the standings, while Al Wakrah are now on 15 points.
