Doha:Al Arabi and Al Ahli coaches are gearing up for a crucial faceoff in the Week 9 match of the 2026-2027 Doha Bank Stars League season, scheduled for Friday. Al Arabi's coach, Cosmin Contra, and Al Ahli's coach, Nebojsa Jovovic, addressed the media to discuss their strategies and expectations ahead of the game.
According to Qatar News Agency, Cosmin Contra highlighted the challenges his team faces against a well-organized opponent like Al Ahli, who have shown strong performances this season. Despite dominating possession and demonstrating tactical discipline in their recent match against Al Rayyan, Al Arabi failed to secure a win due to a lack of decisiveness in front of the goal, costing them two points.
Nebojsa Jovovic, on the other hand, stressed the importance of maintaining the positive momentum and strong performances his team has exhibited. Recognizing Al Arabi as one of the top teams this season with a talented squad, Jovovic emphasized the need for seriousness and respect towards all opponents, a mindset that proved successful in their previous match against Al Shahania.
Both coaches are focused on securing a victory, with Contra aiming to impose Al Arabi's style of play and Jovovic emphasizing the importance of approach and attitude in securing positive results.
