Tonga: An earthquake measuring magnitude 5.0 on the Richter scale struck Tonga Islands on Monday, south of the Pacific Ocean.
According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake occurred 125 kilometers south of Hihifo, at a depth of 116.6 kilometers.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.
Tonga is an archipelago of 176 islands scattered in the South Pacific Ocean, of which only 52 are inhabited, located northwest of New Zealand and Australia.
