New Alamein City:The inaugural Alamein-Africa Business Forum commenced on Saturday in New Alamein City, Egypt. The event saw participation from several African heads of state, senior officials, and leaders from international and regional financial institutions, as well as private-sector representatives from Africa and beyond.
According to Qatar News Agency, the forum aims to foster communication and partnerships among African governments and the private sector. It seeks to accelerate the African Union's Agenda 2063 goals and promote intra-African trade. The forum also focuses on enhancing economic integration, mobilizing partnerships for development projects, expanding investment opportunities, and addressing key economic and development issues across Africa.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, in his keynote address, highlighted that the forum aligns with the African Union's recent summit decisions. It is organized in collaboration with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), and the African Union. El-Sisi emphasized the forum's role in establishing a strategic continental platform to advance Africa's Agenda 2063 and transform joint African action ambitions into tangible outcomes.
The forum also aims to provide a venue for the African business sector to engage with heads of state, discuss private sector challenges, and form transnational partnerships. These efforts are intended to advance economic integration and achieve continental development goals. The forum precedes the 8th mid-year coordination meeting of the African Union, featuring broad participation from various leaders and development partners.
