Egyptian and Mauritanian Foreign Ministers Convene to Address Regional Issues and Strengthen Ties

Cairo: Egypt's foreign minister, Badr Abdelatty, met on Sunday with his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, who is visiting Cairo, to discuss regional developments and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two ministers reviewed major developments related to the US-Iran negotiations, as well as the security and political challenges facing the African continent, particularly in the Sahel and the Horn of Africa.

The ministers underscored the importance of coordinated Arab and African efforts to develop sustainable solutions to ongoing crises and support peaceful settlement initiatives in a manner that would strengthen African nations' ability to confront shared challenges, combat terrorism and achieve comprehensive development.
