Egyptian Foreign Minister and US Special Envoy Discuss US-Iran Negotiations

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wittkopf, discussed regional developments and the latest updates regarding the US-Iran negotiations in light of the revised Iranian proposal during a phone call today.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to support the US-Iranian negotiations and reach a political settlement, averting the threat of war. He stressed the necessity of adhering to the negotiating approach and continuing efforts to reach understandings between the concerned parties to ensure the consolidation of the ceasefire, end the war, and reduce regional tensions.

For his part, the US envoy commended Egypt's role in supporting efforts to de-escalate regional tensions, affirming his desire to continue coordination and consultation in the coming period.
