Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed developments in the Gaza Strip in a phone call Monday with Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohamed Mustafa. During the call, Minister Abdelatty reviewed the latest developments in Egyptian efforts to resume the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, in cooperation with the State of Qatar and the United States.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed Egypt's categorical rejection of the Israeli policy of starvation and collective punishment, noting that it constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. He emphasized the importance of adhering to preserving the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
He also condemned the Israeli military operations and the continued violations and incursions by settlers into the West Bank, reiterating the importance of finding a political horizon for the Palestinian issue that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the Palestinian people's right to self-determination based on the two-state solution.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister also warned that the continued rapid escalation in the Middle East and the military confrontation between Israel and Iran will lead to extremely dangerous repercussions for the security and stability of the region.
