Egyptian President Affirms His Country’s Joint Efforts with Qatar, US to End War On Gaza

Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday affirmed his country's efforts to end the war on the Gaza Strip, allow the entry of the largest possible amount of aid, and release the hostages, through talks taking place with strong and sincere participation from the State of Qatar and the United States.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a televised address on the situation in Gaza, El-Sisi stated that Egypt seeks to stop the war, allow the entry of aid, and release the hostages, adding that there are many details being discussed in the talks with the Israeli and Palestinian sides on this issue, with strong and sincere participation from Qatar and the US.

The Egyptian President made a special appeal to US President Donald Trump, expressing his appreciation for Trump's capability to stop the war and allow the entry of aid. El-Sisi emphasized that the time has come to achieve this goal.

The Egyptian president noted that since October 7, 2023, his country has been committed to engaging positively with its partners in Qatar and the United States on three specific points: stopping the war, allowing aid, and releasing hostages, in addition to its efforts to achieve the two-state solution.

He added that he is addressing the public at this stage to remind them of Egypt's consistent positions, which have always called for an end to the war, a two-state solution, and a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue. El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's clear stance against displacement, arguing that it would undermine the two-state solution or hinder the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The Egyptian president emphasized that the situation inside the Gaza Strip is tragic and unbearable, and that the largest possible amount of aid must be allowed to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. He explained that the Gaza Strip requires between 600 and 700 trucks of aid per day under normal circumstances.
