Jeddah: The Red Sea International Film Festival has announced the opening of film submissions for its fifth edition, scheduled to take place from Dec. 4 to 13, at the festival's headquarters in Jeddah. The festival invites prominent cinematic names and emerging filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Africa, and Asia to submit their applications starting Tuesday, May 6, and ending August 17.
According to Qatar News Agency, the free early submission period ends on Jul. 7, 2025. Films participating in the Red Sea International Film Festival will compete for the Yusr Awards, including the Yusr Golden Award for Best Feature Film, worth 100,000, as well as other awards such as the Best Director Award, the Jury Award, and the Yusr Golden Award for Best Short Film.
The fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival builds on a history of achievements, having screened more than 520 films from 85 countries around the world since its inception.
