Brussels: The European Union has called for utmost restraint from the Israeli occupation authorities following the announcement of a planned expansion of the military offensive in the Gaza Strip, urging the immediate facilitation of humanitarian aid.
According to Qatar News Agency, the European Union has expressed concern over the planned extension of the operation by Israeli forces in Gaza, which is expected to result in further casualties and suffering for the Palestinian population. European Commission spokesperson Anouar El Anouni emphasized the need for Israel to exercise utmost restraint during a press briefing.
The Israeli security cabinet approved a plan late Sunday to expand its military offensive in the Gaza Strip. El Anouni further stated that the European Union is advocating for immediate humanitarian access and distribution of aid, along with the restoration of electricity and essential services in Gaza.
