Doha: European stock indices closed higher Thursday, supported by gains in automakers and raw materials stocks. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index rose 1.95 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 518.72.
According to Qatar News Agency, the German DAX index closed higher, rising 107.40 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 22,069.37. In a volatile trading session, the UK’s FTSE 100 index rose 4.26 points, or 0.05 percent, to close at 8,407.44, extending its winning streak for the ninth consecutive day and marking its longest winning streak since 2019. The French CAC 40 index rose 20.42 points, or 0.27 percent, to close at 7,502.78.
