Ramallah: European stock indices opened Wednesday's trading session with mixed performance as investor caution persisted amid rising energy prices, which reignited inflation concerns and strengthened expectations of central bank interest rate hikes. In the major markets, France's CAC 40 index rose by 0.01%, the UK's FTSE 100 index gained 0.03%, and Italy's FTSE MIB index advanced by 0.26%. Meanwhile, Germany's DAX index fell by 0.24%.

According to Qatar News Agency, the fluctuations in stock performance across Europe highlight the ongoing concerns among investors regarding the economic impact of rising energy costs. These concerns are compounded by increasing expectations that central banks may respond by adjusting interest rates, potentially affecting market stability.
