FIFA Lifts Suspension of Pakistan Football Federation

Lahore: FIFA has lifted the suspension that was imposed on the Pakistan Football Federation on February 6, 2025. This development marks a significant turning point for the country's football community as the federation prepares to re-enter the international arena.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Pakistan Football Federation has faced its third suspension in less than eight years due to its initial rejection of FIFA's recommended amendments to its regulations. However, recent progress was made when the federation held an extraordinary congress in Lahore last week, where the reforms were overwhelmingly approved. This decision paves the way for Pakistan to participate in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.

With the suspension lifted, the Pakistan national team is set to resume its participation in international tournaments. The team is scheduled to compete in the Asian Cup qualifiers later this month, starting with a match against Syria on March 25 in Group E.

The Pakistan Football Federation expressed gratitude on social media, acknowledging the support from FIFA and AFC and congratulating the Pakistan football community for this achievement.
