The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Beaches and Islands Section of the Department of Public Hygiene, has completed the final phase of this year’s Northern and Northwest Beach Cleanup Campaign.

Whereas, the final phase was the clean-up of beaches from Al-kharaej beach to the beach of Abu Samra and lasted for three days, during which about 15 tons of various waste of timber, plastic, tires, etc., were removed. The campaign, in its four phases, has resulted in the removal of around 305 tons of waste, such as iron, timber, empty plastic cans, tires, dead animals, and others. The Department of Public Hygiene appeals to beachgoers to the importance of preserving the beaches and disposing of waste in their designated areas.
