Football: Monaco Appoint Felipe Luis as New Coach

As monaco: AS Monaco announced today the appointment of Brazilian coach Filipe Luis as head coach on a two-season contract.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on its verified social media accounts, the club said that Luis will succeed Sebastien Pocognoli, whose tenure at Monaco ended last May. The club added that the 40-year-old coach has signed a contract running until the summer of 2028.

Filipe Luis began his coaching career with Flamengo two years ago, leading the club to the 2025 Brazilian Super Cup, the 2025 Brazilian first division title, and the 2025 Copa Libertadores. Monaco finished seventh in the French league standings last season and will represent French football in the UEFA Conference League next season. The club will begin its new season on Aug. 22 with its opening match of the French league campaign.
