Tanzania: The Sudanese national football team qualified for the quarterfinals of the African Nations Championship after drawing 0-0 with Senegal today in Tanzania, in the final match of Group D in the first round.
According to Qatar News Agency, Sudan increased its tally to five points from one win and two draws, finishing top of Group D. Senegal came in second place and advanced to the quarterfinals with the group's second qualification spot.
In the quarterfinals, Sudan will face Algeria, the runner-up of Group C, while Senegal will meet Uganda, the Group C leader.
It is worth noting that the current edition of the African Nations Championship is being hosted jointly by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, with 19 teams participating, including four Arab nations: Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, and Sudan.
