Recife: At least four people have died and hundreds have been evacuated after heavy rains struck the city of Recife in northeastern Brazil, triggering floods and landslides across several residential areas. Brazilian media reported that the victims include two women and two children, while search and rescue operations continue in affected areas amid dozens of incidents involving people trapped in flooded homes and neighborhoods.
According to Qatar News Agency, Civil Defense authorities said more than 300 people have been rescued, with evacuation efforts ongoing as the scale of damage from the flooding continues to expand. Local authorities indicated that the rains have displaced hundreds of families in Recife and its surrounding areas.
