Gaza Media Office Reports 497 Ceasefire Violations by Israeli Occupation

Gaza: The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the Israeli occupation has committed 497 documented violations of the ceasefire agreement since it came into effect on October 10, in what it described as a direct breach of international humanitarian law and the protocol attached to the agreement.

According to Qatar News Agency, the office stated on Sunday that 27 violations were recorded yesterday, Saturday alone, resulting in the martyrdom of 24 Palestinians and the injury of 87 others. The statement highlighted that since the start of the ceasefire, these violations have led to 342 civilian deaths, the majority being children, women, and the elderly, along with 875 injuries. Additionally, 35 Palestinians have been detained during raids and incursions.

The statement detailed the nature of the violations, which included 142 incidents of direct gunfire targeting civilians, homes, and displaced persons’ tents; 21 incursions by military vehicles into residential and agricultural areas beyond the temporary yellow line; 228 ground, air, and artillery strikes; and 100 demolitions of homes and civilian structures.

The office urged the United States, mediators, and the UN Security Council to take immediate action to pressure the occupation to halt its attacks and comply with the terms of the agreement and its humanitarian protocol. It emphasized that the continuation of these “grave violations” undermines prospects for stability, and stressed that strong international pressure is necessary to compel the occupation to respect international law and UN resolutions.
