GCC Affirms Member States’ Ability to Overcome Crises and Stand United in Face of Risks


Kuwait city: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi, affirmed that the GCC countries have demonstrated throughout their long journey the ability to overcome crises and stand united in the face of various risks and challenges thanks to God, and to the wisdom and farsighted vision of their leaders. Albudaiwi stated that the rapidly changing global landscape and the complex political, economic, and security crises unfolding around the world inevitably impact GCC countries, given their openness and interconnected interests within regional and international contexts.



According to Qatar News Agency, this makes it essential to further strengthen Gulf integration and unify their positions to face these challenges, safeguard their achievements, protect their interests, and preserve the stability and prosperity of their nations. His remarks came during the 26th meeting of the Ministerial Committee tasked with following up on implementation of resolutions related to joint action, held on Sunday in Kuwait under the chairmanship of Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers of Kuwait and current session chair, Saleh Sulaiman Al Mulla, with participation of ministers and senior officials from GCC member states.



The GCC Secretary-General added that since its establishment, the Council has made relentless efforts over the past decades, resulting in numerous significant achievements that have strengthened its standing and consolidated the foundations of joint Gulf action, paving the way for a more integrated and prosperous future for its peoples. Albudaiwi noted that the meeting serves as a culmination of coordination and cooperation among GCC states in following up on implementation of the Supreme Council’s resolutions.



He commended the efforts of all ministerial and technical committees for their sincere contributions and active roles in aligning perspectives, unifying positions, and enhancing cooperation and integration across various fields through policy coordination, legislative harmonization, and activation of joint agreements, which reflects a successful model of productive regional partnership. He reaffirmed the GCC General Secretariat’s commitment, with all its staff and resources, to supporting Gulf joint action and implementing directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, leaders of the GCC states, in order to advance integration and cooperation in all sectors.



He emphasized that the GCC system will remain strong and capable of meeting present and future challenges, thereby reinforcing its stability, safeguarding its security, and ensuring greater progress and prosperity for its peoples. The Secretary-General further highlighted that the meeting addresses a number of important topics related to cooperation and integration among GCC countries across various fields, which will have a direct positive impact on Gulf citizens.



He added that the outcomes of this meeting will represent an important step toward strengthening joint Gulf action, accelerating implementation of the Supreme Council’s resolutions, and removing any obstacles in the process, thereby advancing the path of cooperation and integration toward a more cohesive and prosperous Gulf future.
