Washington: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, met with the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Albert Ramdin, on the sidelines of his participation in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG).
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on GCC-OAS relations and explored ways to enhance these ties to serve the mutual interests of both parties. The discussions included updates on the progress of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing negotiations between the GCC Secretariat General and the OAS. The leaders also reviewed several future recommendations to foster cooperation.
The GCC Secretary General emphasized the commitment of the Council's member countries to fostering cooperation and coordination with regional and international organizations. Al Budaiwi stated that collaborating with the OAS aims to create a mutual understanding, allowing both parties to benefit from each other's experiences across various fields. He also highlighted the importance of formulating future strategies concerning numerous issues and recent global developments.
