Doha: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, affirmed that Gulf youth are a fundamental pillar in building the future of GCC states and achieving their national visions, emphasizing their significant contributions to the comprehensive development of the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, this statement was made on the occasion of Gulf Youth Day, celebrated annually on June 6. Albudaiwi noted that this event serves as an important milestone for GCC states to acknowledge the vital role played by Gulf youth across various fields.
Furthermore, the GCC Secretary General highlighted the supreme directives from the leaders of the member states, underscoring the importance placed on empowering the youth. Albudaiwi mentioned that this commitment is demonstrated through the adoption of regulations, resolutions, and the development of policies, strategies, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of the youth, preparing them to address challenges and seize opportunities in developmental sectors.
Albudaiwi also pointed out the qualitative accomplishments made by GCC nations in the youth domain, reflecting the leadership's dedication to investing in this crucial demographic. He emphasized the launch of initiatives designed to elevate the role of youth in achieving sustainable development, further illustrating the GCC's commitment to its future generations.
