Riyadh: The General Court of Audit (GCA) announced in a press release that it, through the Saudi Center for Financial and Performance Auditing (SCFPA), will host the Fifth Internal Auditing Forum on May 12, as part of the International Internal Audit Awareness Month activities. The event is scheduled to take place at GCA’s headquarters in Riyadh and will feature distinguished specialized national and international speakers. Leaders and specialists from internal audit departments across various government agencies are expected to attend the forum.

“The forum, now in its fifth edition, aims to raise awareness about the role of internal audit in achieving organizational strategic objectives, enhancing audit and governance, and enriching knowledge by addressing current challenges and exploring development opportunities in the field of internal audit,” the release stated. Additionally, the release mentioned that the Chair of the Institute of Internal Auditors Board of Directors, Sally-Anne Pitt, will deliver a sp
eech at the main session discussing the impact of the standards change in 2024 on internal audit work worldwide.

Furthermore, the release outlined that the forum will comprise two discussion sessions. The first session will concentrate on the role of internal audit in achieving the strategic goals of public sector institutions and creating value, while the second session will explore the impact of AI on internal audit practices and applications. These sessions will feature experts providing insights into the evolving landscape of internal audit and the critical challenges and opportunities facing the field.

“The forum will also include an ‘Internal Audit Applications’ exhibition, where several organizations will showcase their experiences in enhancing the role of internal audit within their respective entities. This exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to explore a range of internal audit practices and interact with professionals in the field,” the release concluded.
