Doha:Spot gold prices steadied, remaining near a seven-week low amid concerns over potential prolonged higher interest rates by the Federal Reserve. Investors are also awaiting a range of economic data from the United States.
According to Qatar News Agency, spot gold remained largely unchanged at $4,124.57 per ounce. This follows a dip to its lowest level since August 5 in the previous trading session.
US gold futures saw a decline of 0.3%, reaching $4,156.70.
In the broader metals market, spot silver decreased by 0.6% to $60.62 per ounce. Platinum experienced a 1% drop, priced at $1,699.86, while palladium fell by 0.5% to $1,209.08.
