Doha: Google has announced the global expansion of its Opal tool, designed for building miniature AI applications without the need for coding, which is now available in over 160 countries, up from an initial 16. Opal empowers users to construct fully integrated applications capable of executing complex, multi-step tasks, such as data analysis, extracting information from the web, and storing results directly in Google Sheets, Google noted.
According to Qatar News Agency, the tool also generates customized reports and provides advanced data-analysis functionalities, enabling users to derive precise insights and make decisions based on reliable, actionable information. It facilitates the automation of routine tasks, including updating weekly newsletters, preparing meal plans, and reviewing legal contracts, thereby saving substantial time and effort.
In the domain of creative content, the tool can produce dynamic visual material combining images and annotated text, assist writers in generating ideas, drafting copy, and creating accompanying voiceovers, enhancing productivity and streamlining the content creation process. In essence, the tool simplifies the application development workflow: users need only enter a natural-language description of the task they want the application to perform, and Opal automatically generates a flowchart to execute the requested operations, making app development direct, efficient, and user-friendly.
Google confirmed that the tool has proven highly beneficial for content creators and marketers, enabling them to produce consistent, scalable content, such as social media posts and visual ad copy, all derived from a single product concept. Entrepreneurs and independent developers leverage Opal to rapidly test new ideas or build simple applications, including language-learning apps or personal travel planners.
In addition, Google emphasized that it is positioning Opal as a comprehensive productivity tool for creators and small businesses, designed to accelerate internal tool development and deliver tailored solutions without dedicated software teams, while significantly reducing the time and cost required to build everyday applications. Opal debuted in the United States in July 2025 and expanded in October to 15 additional countries. With the new global rollout, the tool is now accessible to users across most of the world, cementing its role as a highly scalable, no-code AI solution for creators, entrepreneurs, and businesses alike.
