Gulf U-17 Cup Achieved Its Objectives, Minister of Sports and Youth Affirms


Doha: HE Minister of Sports and Youth and President of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani affirmed that the recently concluded Gulf Cup U-17 tournament in Doha successfully achieved its objectives by showcasing promising young football talent from across the region.



According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Minister remarked that the competition contributed meaningfully to the development and refinement of young players’ skills. He added that the spirit, enthusiasm, and effort displayed by all participating teams was a valuable gain for Gulf football.



He extended his congratulations to the Saudi national team for winning the title, saying: “I congratulate the Saudi Football Federation and the Saudi fans. The team showed consistent and well-organized performances throughout the tournament and fully deserved the title.”



HE Sheikh Hamad also praised the UAE national team for its strong showing, noting its high technical level and wishing the team success in future competitions.



The Gulf U-17 Championship, which began on Sep. 20, concluded today at Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha, where Saudi Arabia defeated the United Arab Emirates 2-0 in the final to claim the title.
