At least seven people have died due to heavy rains and monsoons that swept through the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India.
Local authorities said that the heavy rains resulted in the death of seven people in the Solan district of the state, while six others were rescued, Indian media reported Monday.
Monsoons have swept through the state of Himachal Pradesh since June 24, and have so far resulted in the death of 257 people, while 32 others remain missing. A total of 290 injuries have been recorded, in addition to the destruction and damage of about 9,311 homes.
According to official data, 90 landslides and 55 flash floods were recorded in the state, while approximately 450 roads are still closed, in addition to the disruption of 1,814 electricity supply lines and 59 water supply lines.
