Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa hailed Bahrain’s sports achievements, praising the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also commended the pivotal role of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and SCYS Chairman in developing sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He praised Bahrain’s sports strides as he received, at Al Wadi Palace in Riffa, Al Najma, winner of the Asian Handball Clubs’ Championship, and Manama, which clinched the West Asian Basketball Super League.
Present were GSA Deputy Chairman HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs Ministry Undersecretary, BOC Deputy President HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, GSA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Al Najma Chairman Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and Manama Chairman Yusuf Zaman and other senior officials and invitees.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad congratulated Al Najma and Manama and conveyed to them greetings from HM the King, hailing their landmark performance which reflected Bahrain’s sports strides.
He also commended the role of the boards of directors of both clubs in supporting the two teams which enabled them to bag the prestigious trophies, wishing them further successes.
