Doha: Chairperson of Qatar Foundation HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser participated in the National Sport Day 2026 events at Qatar Foundation Education City. Thousands gathered to celebrate health, inclusion, and wellbeing across the nation.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Education City Stadium was central to the activities, attended by HE Vice Chairperson of Qatar Foundation Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani. Volkswagen Middle East, as the Strategic Partner of Qatar Foundation National Sport Day events and the Official Mobility Partner for the Women and Girls Football Initiative, played a significant role. The stadium facilitated an inclusive environment for women and girls of all ages and athletic abilities to engage in sports.
Participants showed enthusiasm during the finals of the Women and Girls Football Initiative, with HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani awarding the winning teams. This event coincided with the fourth Women Fitness Challenge. The Education City Run: Color Edition, featuring 1,200 female and 600 male participants, provided a vibrant experience with colorful bursts of powder. Part of the proceeds supported Education Above All as the Run's Social Impact Partner.
Families and children participated in various sports and recreational activities at Education City Oxygen Park. These activities, organized by the Qatar Foundation Ability Friendly Program, included opportunities for young athletes with disabilities, promoting inclusivity and confidence.
This year's National Sports Day at Education City also featured health talks on topics such as gut health and sustainable biohacking. These sessions offered practical insights into wellbeing and resilience, aiding informed health decisions.
Besides Volkswagen Middle East, ASICS and Pocari Sweat collaborated with Qatar Foundation for the day's activities. National sport federations such as the Qatar Basketball Federation and Qatar Triathlon Federation partnered with QF Pre-University Education for various events.
Qatar Foundation annually hosts National Sport Day with activities in Education City, involving students, staff, and the larger community. This celebration emphasizes community, inclusivity, and lifelong wellbeing, underscoring Qatar's commitment to fostering a healthier, active society.
