HH the Amir and European Council President Discuss Regional Security and Energy Stability

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with HE President of the European Council Antonio Costa and his delegation at the Amiri Diwan. The meeting focused on regional and international updates, particularly the ongoing developments in the Middle East, including the situation in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, amid the ongoing escalation and its humanitarian and security implications.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions highlighted concerns over regional security, emphasizing the potential impact on international maritime navigation and the stability of global energy markets. Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining uninterrupted energy supplies and enhancing security and stability in key maritime routes.

Additionally, the meeting explored avenues to strengthen the strategic partnership between Qatar and the European Union, reaffirming Qatar's role as a dependable partner in supporting global energy security, particularly in the supply of liquefied natural gas to international markets. The dialogue also included potential opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in energy, trade, and investment sectors, aiming to advance mutual interests.
