HH the Amir Inaugurates Ras Laffan and Mesaieed Solar Power Plants

Ras Laffan: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the inauguration ceremony of Ras Laffan and Mesaieed solar power plants in Ras Laffan City on Monday morning. During the ceremony, HH the Amir viewed a documentary on the construction phases of the two plants and their alignment with the country's strategy to transition to low-carbon energy, promoting environmental sustainability in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. Additionally, HH the Amir enjoyed a theatrical performance illustrating the historical uses of solar energy in agriculture and industry.

According to Qatar News Agency, following the inauguration, HH the Amir inspected the solar panel control and distribution room, equipped with the latest technologies for generating electricity from solar energy. The inspection also included an overview of the plants' utility services and their production capacity aimed at fulfilling a significant portion of the country's renewable energy needs.

The event commenced with a speech by HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi. The ceremony was graced by the presence of several senior officials from both local and international companies.
