Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani said the “challenges facing realizing social development-such as poverty, unemployment, and social inequality-require collective cooperation and effective solidarity.”
According to Qatar News Agency, in his speech at the opening of the Second World Summit for Social Development, HH the Amir stated that the State of Qatar takes pride in its strong strategic partnership with the United Nations, and has never faltered in fulfilling its commitments. Qatar ranks among the leading supporters of the UN across various domains.
HH the Amir emphasized that Qatar will remain an active partner in the international community and a supporter of social development efforts. This commitment is demonstrated through its contributions and assistance to many countries and communities via organizations such as the Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Charity.
