Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with HM King Philippe of Belgium at the Amiri Diwan on Monday. The meeting marked the King's visit to Qatar to participate in the second World Summit for Social Development, set to begin in Doha on Tuesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir expressed his gratitude to HM King Philippe for attending the summit and highlighted the significance of the strong ties between Qatar and Belgium. His Highness emphasized the desire to further develop these relations to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
HM King Philippe thanked HH the Amir for the warm reception and underscored Belgium's commitment to enhancing cooperation and friendship with Qatar. He praised HH the Amir and Qatar for their contributions to regional and global peace efforts.
The discussions between HH the Amir and HM King Philippe focused on enhancing bilateral relations and covered regional and international developments and shared interests. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials from both sides, including HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi, and HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, as well as Belgian Minister Rob Beenders.
