Doha: Qatari newspapers highlighted in their Monday editorials the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani of the Rawda Award for Excellence in Social Work ceremony in its first edition, which embodies the values of giving, social responsibility, and active citizenship that distinguish the State of Qatar.
According to Qatar News Agency, this award gains its importance from being the first official Qatari national initiative concerned with honoring individuals, families, institutions, and actors who have contributed with qualitative efforts and innovative and sustainable initiatives in serving Qatari society, within an organized institutional framework led by the Ministry of Social Development and Family.
Newspapers unanimously agreed that the Rawda Award's message transcends mere recognition, aiming to cultivate a new societal awareness that social responsibility and social work are fundamental pillars of development. It is an open invitation to transform the spirit of initiative into a general culture and to mobilize individual and institutional energies in a comprehensive national project.
For its part, Al-Raya newspaper reported that the patronage and presence of HH the Amir at the Rawda Award for Excellence in Social Work ceremony embodied the depth of the leadership's vision and its human dimension. In an article by the editor-in-chief, Al-Raya argued that the award ceremony was not merely a celebratory occasion but rather an eloquent national statement declaring that building nations is not measured solely by the size of material achievement but by their ability to preserve values, unleash the energies of giving, and empower individuals to be the primary actors in shaping the present and anticipating the future.
The newspaper pointed out that HH the Amir honored 11 Rawda Award winners for their innovative social initiatives across the categories of individuals, families, non-profit organizations, and the private sector. Concluding its editorial, Al-Raya said that the contribution of the winners of the Rawda Award exemplifies a shining model of sincere giving and a steadfast commitment to serving the community, reflecting a responsible awareness that elevates the initiative from ideas to the creation of a lasting impact. This honor serves as a renewed incentive to continue giving and to consolidate the noble values embodied by Sheikha Rawda bint Mohammed bin Thani in the meanings of belonging and giving, the newspaper added.
In turn, Al-Sharq newspaper stated that the Rawda Award came under the generous patronage of HH the Amir to reflect the great interest that the wise leadership pays to establishing a culture of institutional social work in the State of Qatar and enhancing the status of community initiatives. HH the Amir honored 11 Rawda Award winners for their innovative social initiatives across the categories of individuals, families, non-profit organizations, and the private sector.
The newspaper explained that the Rawda Award is the first national award in the field of social work. It was established by Amiri Decision No. 16 of 2025, to form an institutional framework for honoring the most impactful and sustainable social initiatives within five main categories that include: individuals, families, non-profit institutions, the private sector, and the media. Al-Sharq noted that His Highness' expression of pride in the launch of the first session of the Rawda Award is in line with the celebration of the noble social achievements and contributions embodied by Sheikha Rawda bint Mohammed bin Thani, who was an example of the proactive Qatari woman as she turned her individual efforts into solid social contributions.
Concluding its editorial, Al-Sharq emphasized that this award and the symbolism it carries not only contribute to achieving one of the pillars of social development within Qatar National Vision 2030 but also preserves the legacy of the State of Qatar in charitable work that promotes community values and celebrates inspiring experiences in the field of social work, and initiatives that put people at the heart of their priorities.
