Rabat: The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) marked International Translation Day, which is observed annually on September 30, by reaffirming its commitment to advancing translation and publishing efforts. The organization aims to foster cross-cultural understanding through its training programs and academic partnerships.
According to Qatar News Agency, ICESCO Director-General Dr. Salim M. Al Malik emphasized that celebrating International Translation Day highlights the organization’s belief that translation serves as more than just a bridge between languages. He described it as a cornerstone for building a future grounded in trust, diversity, and openness.
Dr. Al Malik noted that ICESCO, through its Translation and Publishing Center, supports translation as a mission that promotes dialogue, peace, and mutual understanding among nations. He also acknowledged the vital role of translators worldwide, whose work facilitates cultural connection and meaningful exchange between civilizations.
