Intense Drone and Missile Attacks Hit Ukraine

Kyiv:Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that over the past week, Russia launched more than 1,900 one-way attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs, and 25 missiles targeting Ukraine.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Telegram, President Zelenskyy revealed that 135 one-way attack drones were launched overnight, with over 50 being jet-powered. Areas targeted include Kyiv and the regions of Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. These attacks have primarily targeted residential buildings and critical infrastructure, resulting in power outages in some communities as emergency services address the aftermath.

Further incidents included a drone strike on Kyiv's Northern Bridge and an attack on a medical supplies warehouse in Sumy, where one person was killed. In Dnipro, a communications facility was attacked, resulting in injuries to six individuals.

This escalation comes as the war, which began on February 24, 2022, continues with no comprehensive political settlement in sight. Efforts by international parties to mediate a diplomatic end to the conflict have been inconsistent, while military actions persist on both sides.
