Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran has no intention of making concessions and emphasized the need to move beyond what he described as a "no war, no peace" situation.
According to Nam News Network, Pezeshkian expressed that Iranian officials are engaged in almost daily discussions on how to progress beyond the current situation and reach an understanding that upholds Iran's principles and values while deterring adversaries from considering another attack.
Pezeshkian highlighted that war is not a viable solution and that the ongoing uncertainty about potential conflict resumption is having an economic impact on the country. He noted that attracting investment would remain challenging as long as the threat of renewed conflict loomed, underscoring the importance of resolving the situation through logic while maintaining Iran's strength.
In defending a recent memorandum with the United States, Pezeshkian stated that it did not include any provisions that would amount to capitulation or require Tehran to make concessions. The memorandum, signed in June through mediation by Pakistan and Qatar, aimed to end hostilities that began in February and pave the way for negotiations towards a final agreement.
However, talks have stalled due to disputes over the implementation of the memorandum and arrangements for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil and gas exports.
