Israeli Forces Disrupt Water Supply by Cutting Electricity to Desalination Plants in Gaza

Deir Al Balah: The Deir Al Balah municipality announced that the Israeli occupation forces have cut off electricity to two desalination plants, which supply about 70 percent of the population of the Deir Al Balah area, central Gaza Strip, with water.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two plants together produce about 20,000 cubic meters of desalinated water daily. In the context of the Israeli escalation on the Strip, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported that nine martyrs and 21 injuries arrived at the Strip's hospitals during the past 48 hours.

The Ministry of Health stated in a press release that among the martyrs, four were pulled out from under the rubble, and five new martyrs were killed due to the bombing and bullets of the occupation. The death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 48,397 martyrs and 111,824 injuries since October 7, 2023.

The Ministry further noted that a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, with ambulance and civil defense crews unable to reach them.
