Israeli Forces Erect New Checkpoint in Southern Syria

Quneitra: The Israeli occupation forces have established a new barrier near the separation fence in the occupied Syrian Golan, west of Al-Rafid village in the southern countryside of the Quneitra Governorate.

According to Qatar News Agency, local sources have indicated that the newly erected barrier is situated inside agricultural lands, approximately 300 meters from the separation fence. In addition to the barrier, the Israeli forces, comprising four military vehicles, encroached on the road connecting the village of Al-Mu'allaqa and the town of Ghadir Al-Bustan. They set up a temporary checkpoint and arrested a civilian before withdrawing from the area.

The establishment of this checkpoint is seen as a continuation of the Israeli forces' violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. Syria has consistently urged the international community to intervene and put a stop to these violations, pressing for a full withdrawal of the occupation forces from its territory.
