Israeli Side Opens Fire at Lebanese Monitoring Point

Beirut: The Israeli side opened fire at the perimeter of the point between Sarda and Marjayoun districts while the Lebanese military personnel were establishing a monitoring point at the southern borders, the Lebanese military reported in a statement Tuesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the statement added that an Israeli quadcopter was hovering at a low altitude and issued threats to force the Lebanese personnel to leave. Meanwhile, the Lebanese army command issued orders to reinforce this point, maintain military presence, and respond to the sources of the fire.

This incident is being monitored in coordination with the panel supervising the cessation of hostilities, alongside the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the statement continued.
