Dhahran, The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) has held here a seminar titled “Support Funds”, which focused on the promising opportunities for filmmakers in the Kingdom at the 10th Saudi Film Festival, which concludes next Thursday.
Representatives of bodies that fund the Saudi film sector took part in the seminar, which also discussed support, empowerment and phases of the Ithra film program, and the content and ideas for filmmakers.
Ithra has been providing gradual support, keeping pace with the progress of local and international cinema, since 2017.
The seminar stressed the importance of industries invested in culture, and quality production, and of lending support to filmmakers, stressing that meaningful films with appropriate content attract moviegoers.
Participants in the seminar emphasized the importance of film education and raising public awareness about developments and events in the constantly changing world of cinema, and of the pursuit of experiences and knowledge to ensure tha
t support is granted for the production and distribution of movies.
