Amman: The Jordanian capital will host the second International Conference on Climate Change and Health in the Arab Region (CCHAR-II 2026) from August 24 to 26, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and representatives of regional and international institutions. The conference aims to transform scientific evidence on climate-related health impacts into practical policies and interventions to protect communities and strengthen health systems across the Arab region. According to Qatar News Agency, discussions will focus on the health effects of air pollution, dust storms, heatwaves, rising nighttime temperatures, water scarcity, and climate-sensitive diseases, as well as the impact on children and mothers. The conference will conclude with recommendations to enhance cooperation between scientists and policymakers and integrate health considerations into climate policies. Organizing Committee Chairman Dr. Ahmad Al Salaymeh stated that the event comes amid rising temperatures and increasing climate-relat ed health challenges across the region. He noted that the program includes 12 sessions and around 68 scientific presentations, covering topics like artificial intelligence, climate-related diseases, and renewable energy.
