Jordanian Foreign Minister, Thai Counterpart Discuss Efforts to De-Escalate Middle East


Doha: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi discussed efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East in a phone call with his Thai counterpart, Maris Sangiambongsa. During the call, the two ministers stressed the importance of the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel announced by US President Donald Trump.



According to Qatar News Agency, they emphasized the need for both parties to adhere to the agreement to spare the region the disastrous consequences of escalation, and the importance of an immediate return to negotiations and the political process. They also discussed efforts to reach a peace agreement that achieves a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and ensures adequate access for humanitarian aid to the Strip.
