Amman: King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized the critical need for a unified Arab and Islamic stance and collective efforts to counter the unprecedented Israeli measures in Jerusalem, particularly concerning the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Jordanian King conveyed this message during a meeting at Al-Husseiniya Palace with members of the Arab Ministerial Committee. This committee is responsible for international action against illegal Israeli policies and measures in occupied Jerusalem. King Abdullah II reiterated Jordan's enduring commitment to its historical and legal role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, underpinned by the Hashemite custodianship of these sites. The meeting included foreign ministers from various countries, including Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Palestine, Egypt, and Morocco, as well as the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. Representatives from Indonesia, Pakistan, Tu rkey, and Malaysia were also present. In the presence of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, King Abdullah II cautioned against the exploitation of regional unrest to impose new realities in the holy city. He highlighted the potential escalation of conflict due to ongoing Israeli activities in the West Bank, including land annexation attempts and settlement expansions. The discussion, attended by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King's chief advisor for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy, also focused on the necessity of implementing all phases of the comprehensive peace plan in the Gaza Strip. Key Jordanian officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and the Director of the King's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, were present at the meeting.
